Once a famous silver camp in the late nineteenth century, Clancy is an unincorporated community near Jefferson City, Montana. Ore from the mines was rich and made a profit for all involved in its extraction and smelting. Ore from the mines was hauled by bull teams to Fort Benton and then shipped by river and ocean to Swansea, Wales, for smelting.

Located about 10 miles south of Helena, the state’s capital, the area is seeing a growth of population.
