Downtown Fort Benton Webcam
Known as the birthplace of Montana, Fort Benton was named one of the prettiest places to visit by Forbes Magazine. Located on the banks of the Missouri River, the town began as a place for trade. Steamships brought fortune seekers from Missouri where they would then take the Mullan Wagon Road overland to Walla Walla, Washington on their way west.
Today the town welcomes visitors who come to enjoy the recreation opportunity the river offers. Begin your river journey down the Upper Missouri National Wild & Scenic River and into the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument.
The small town offers lodging, camping, dining, and shops with the necessary supplies for your adventure. A number of very qualified outfitters and shuttle providers live in town and base their services out of Fort Benton or other nearby launching points.
