Montana City Webcam
A bedroom community just south of Helena, Montana, is one of the oldest prehistoric sites in the state of Montana. Native American came to the area to gather chert, a rock similar to flint, which was used to make spear tips, arrowheads, and knives.
Gold was discovered and the town was born, becoming the center for mining activity in the area.
As with most gold mining town, as the metal became scarce, the area became a ghost town.
Today, the town has a cement plant. Its close proximity to Helena affords residents the convenience of nearby services in a rural setting.
